After a few days of bicycle touring in the hot and dry hills of Eastern Oregon with Treo Ranches, we asked Alex Gerace to review the Nutcase Street helmet in Cream that he wore for the multi-day trip. This is part of our series of quick review posts to hear from all different types of Nutcase helmet users. Here’s what Alex had to say:
Your name and title, what you do for a living:
Alex Gerace, Information Analyst at NW Permanente. I do reporting and data analysis for our care delivery teams, helping to improve patient access to physicians, utilization of our clinics, and overall patient satisfaction.
Your style of cycling or how you like to bike best:
I love to commute and bike around Portland, and make that my primary mode of transportation.
Your first impressions of the Street helmet:
I really like the snug, comfortable fit and how the [Fidlock] magnetic buckle worked. It is also much easier to adjust than other helmets I’ve used in the past.
What works about the helmet for your particular riding style?
Since I mainly commute, the helmet is a perfect fit for my riding style. The fit is very snug and tight. I am used to using much lighter, road style helmets. The Street helmet is heavier and fits snugger to my head, so I feel safer in commuting environments.
Anything else to add?
I probably wouldn’t wear this helmet on a very long ride. However, for my everyday purposes, I don’t see this as a problem. Cheers!
