It’s almost May and while we think biking can be for all seasons, it’s the start of fair weather bike fun.
May is National Bike Month.
Sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists since 1956, National Bike Month is a great time to talk about biking as an all-inclusive past-time that has health and happiness and fitness benefits.
Here at Nutcase we’re also going to use National Bike Month to talk to more people in the extended Nutty family, find out why you ride, and then tell the world. So send us your photos, stories, and film clips. At the end of the month we’ll give away a Nutcase helmet or two for the best stories.
Get in touch – If you think you have a special story about biking in your Nutcase helmet, send it to info@nutcasehelmets.com. We want to hear from you!
National Bike Month is filled with great events for people who bike.
There’s Bike to Work Week, which takes place this year between May 11th and May 15th.
The 15th itself is National Bike to Work Day, and bikey people around the U.S. will ride their bikes to work. (Amazingly, more than than half of the U.S. population lives within five miles of their workplace!)
There’s CycloFemme, the Mother’s Day national celebration of women who bike, with rides all over the country and all over the world.
And there’s also Bike and Walk to School Day on Wednesday, May 6th.
We’re looking forward to this month as a way to showcase all the fascinating and multi-faceted reasons that people like to ride.
We’ll send some very special people profiles out from this blog, as well as update you on the happenings of this month.
And of course, we’ll show some great-looking Nutcase helmets on all different, diverse, and distinctive types of beautiful people who wear our helmets when they ride.
Come back for more – we have two great video clips coming your way this month, too.
(We clipped these photos of riders from a viewing of a great short film about women and girls and biking called ‘The Wind in Our Hair’. Watch the trailer below!)
